del Signore Family Crest

The Del Signore Family

The family name derives from ancient and noble origins in Rome, and also carried branches of its name into other regions.

Giovanni Pietro Del Signore was a leader of the Caporioni of Rome in the year 1673 and a Conservatore in the year 1696.

It is also believed that the Del Signore family derives from the Papareschi , the very ancient and powerful Roman family that gave its name to Pope Innocent II, of the Roman Catholic Church. This family was included in the Bolla Benedette, among the noble families of Rome. A branch of it also flourished in Abruzzi.

Given his artistic talent Isonlando, Izzy would eventually attend (on full scholarship) and graduate from the prestigious Columbus Academy of Art and Design. Retaining a warm relationship with his professor, Chester Nicodemus, he returned often to consult and assist with the classes. On one occasion he met a young student, Helen Elizabeth White. This proved to be a turning point in his life.

He and Helen, Lenni were married in early 1940, and made their home in Columbus. A year later in February, their only child, daughter Denita was born.
